Spears Strong is an affiliate of ADAPT Training, based out of Beaverton, Oregon. ADAPT training believes that the human body has a blueprint, is an adaptive organism, and is stimulant dependent. Adapt Training is a philosophy that is based on training the body the way it was designed to be used to keep it trending towards its original blueprint. 

    Spears Strong offers group and personal training as well as therapeutic massage. Spears Strongers also put their fitness to the test with the many adventures offered by Spears Strong from hiking to trail running to SUP workouts. 



    About Jonathan Spears

    Spears Strong is the culmination of Jonathan’s life, which he has lived active and mostly outdoors.

    From racing mountain bikes, to finishing sub 3-hour marathons to completing the Ironman Wisconsin, Jonathan lives what he does. His knowledge comes from his active lifestyle as well as his affiliation as an ADAPT-certified trainer.

    Jonathan and his wife live and breath the philosophy that humans were made to move. They got married at the finish line of a 10K race and hiked three miles to spend their honeymoon in an off the grid wilderness cabin in Lake Tahoe.

    Their mission and the mission of Spears Strong is to build a community of healthy, strong and happy people who inspire each other.  

    Jonathan is also known for his sense of humor and encouraging nature.

    About Sara Stevens

    Sara believes strongly in the power of functional movement, positive touch and the body’s ability to heal itself. 

    Sara feels her purpose as a trainer and massage therapist is to help you find your best path to optimal health and functional, efficient movement, so that you are able to live the life you love and feel great doing it.

    Sara earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science at Oregon State University and is an ADAPT certified trainer. She also completed the massage therapy program at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland. 

    In her massage practice, Sara does swedish and deep tissue massage and incorporates aspects of Thai, structural integration and myofascial release. Each session is tailored to the individual client’s needs, whether it be focused work for pain relief or a general full body massage for relaxation. 

    Workouts designed with the ADAPT principles are intended to provide a variety of stimuli to challenge your body in every direction of movement, so that you can move through your life without hesitation, the way you did when you were a kid.
